Against the Consensus of Illusion

· By Byzantine Eagle · 1 MIN READ

We live within an architecture of carefully maintained illusions. What passes for public discourse is largely a choreographed performance, designed to substitute sentiment for thought and conformity for conviction.

The ancient fathers spoke of nepsis—watchfulness of the heart. Without this vigilant attention, the mind absorbs every false image presented by the world, mistaking current opinion for timeless truth. To stand against the consensus of illusion requires unceasing discernment and the courage to remain grounded in reality.
